Nick Scandone of Fountain Valley, California is among the 9 male nominees for the "2005 Rolex Yachtsman of the year." Among his many accomplishments this year Nick won first place at Open Worlds 2.4 meter championships. He is the third disabled sailor in 10 years to win the Open Worlds, and defeated seven former world champions in the process.
